Sometimes artists lose the "challenge" of the re-design 'cos they go to far from the original concept. This is very easy when u have to work with a so-iconic character as Superman. His original costume is one of the most recognizable of the comics-world. Even a no-comic expert as my Granny can recognize Supes by his costume and classic S. So, here I see that your choise is the simplicity. An elegant and very easy to memorize design, in the service of a "rounded" anotomical approach. The design is really effective and this guy, for sure, is Superman. Well done! Challenge won! A special mention to the pose and the face. A pleasure to watch. Just a personal curiosity. What if instead of the classic S u had used the Alex Ross' Kindom come S? However, my final criticism is: BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't want this to be Superman's regular costume, but I would like to see him wear something like this as a uniform for formal occasions (weddings, ceremonies, political conferences, diplomatic missions to other planets). It lends itself more to black-tie events (or the superhero version thereof) than the various versions of his regular outfit.
